Why Creating a Vision Board Every Year is Not Enough to Drive Change: 5 Key Reasons
Here's how you can make a change.
Creating Effective Vision Boards for Achieving Your Dreams
Every year, it's customary to create a visual board that expresses our hopes and aspirations. However, this practice is often overlooked and ineffective. For a long time, I was unable to see any results from my vision boards. Initially, I avoided creating them at the end of the year, thinking that I had to wait until then to plan for my future. Moreover, I realized that vision boards had become another form of relaxation instead of a tool to manifest my dreams.
Why Are You Unable to Manifest Your Dreams?**
1-Be Honest with Yourself
It's essential to know what happiness means to you. Many people associate happiness with money and spend their time chasing it instead of exploring why they want it. Similarly, just because starting a business is trendy, it doesn't mean you should pursue it. Some people find joy in being married and baking pies, and that's perfectly fine.
2-The Importance of Timely Vision Boards
For years, I created vision boards for the next 5–10 years instead of focusing on the upcoming year. This may have contributed to my lack of results. It's crucial to understand that change takes time, and we need to give ourselves time to adapt, apply, and reevaluate our goals.
3-Ask the Right Questions to Move Forward
Asking fundamental questions such as "Why am I here today?" and "Why do I want to change?" can help you refocus when you're feeling unmotivated or procrastinating.
4-Lack of Self-Belief
Perhaps you doubt your ability to change or are hesitant to relinquish your current identity. However, it's essential to embrace your true self, who is ambitious and ready to achieve their goals.
5-Inaction
Making a vision board is an excellent way to set intentions, but it's not enough to create one and hope for the best. It would help if you devised a plan to achieve your goals. The process involves more than just selecting images and pasting them on a board; you need to strategize. I can recommend some books that guide planning to help you with this.
