Lately, there’s been a lot of talk online about how personal branding is dead, and now the focus should be on building communities. We also see content creators who’ve carved out highly specific niches suddenly abandoning them to follow their inner voice. This has led me to wonder: to grow online today, should you focus on a niche, or is it more important to create a community that allows you the freedom to be yourself and get paid for it?

When I woke up this morning, I concluded. Right now, we’re seeing many creators making sensational videos to get clicks, proclaiming that personal branding is dead, content creation is over because of AI, being niche is outdated, and creating a community is the only way forward.
